How long does it take plaquenil to work for lupus

It is a disabling and painful condition which can lead to substantial loss of mobility due to pain and joint destruction. I've been off it a few days and thankfully my plumbing is back to normal it seems and the huge acne has stopped/gone. The disease is also systemic in that it often also affects many extra-articular tissues throughout the body including the skin, blood vessels, heart, lungs, and... Since I'm a woman I managed to bypass the plumbing problems while on the prednisone (I'm on 30 mg), but you're right, the acne is BAD!! Considering the state my joints are in though, I suppose that's the least of my problems.

Arava Drug and Medication User Reviews on RxList I was diagnosed with RA 2 years ago. Started off taking methotrexate, plaquenil and a round of low dose prednisone. Did well until side affects of methtrexate became too much mostly nausea. My rheumatologist put me on arava and I've been doing well. Pain mostly hands, wrists, ankles & feet is mild to moderate but definitely manageable.
