    Plaquenil per alopecia

I have Sjgrens syndrome and fibromyalgia, and take Lyrica, too. I'll take Advil for the discomfort and at least keep my hair. In the past 3 months have noticed extreme hair thinning & breakage. Jeff Donovan MD Ph D FRCPC FAADUS & Canadian board-certified Dermatologist Toronto, Canada Dear dcctor: There are many doctors who claim that many drugs don’t cause hair loss, but yet there are many patients who take medications that end up with hair loss, and when they go off of the medication, hair loss subsides. Maybe I will just tell the doctor to wean me off of them, as they really aren't a cure for this. Have you tried any hair products like Rogaine, if so did it work? be sure to check with your physician and ideally your dermatologist as well to review all possible causes of your hair loss.

Hydroxychloroquine Plaquenil is used to treat malaria, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis. Learn about side effects, warnings, dosage, and more. My rheumy told me that the hair loss could be from the plaquenil or lupus before telling me to take vitamin b. I knew I was already on a lot of vitamins so I talked to my PCP who put me on them, and I was told not to take anymore than the two multivitamins because one is a prescription iron/ multivitamin combination with a lot of vitamins. Plaquenil and Hair loss - from FDA reports Summary Hair loss is found among people who take Plaquenil, especially for people who are female, 50-59 old, have been taking the drug for 1 - 6 months, also take medication Enbrel, and have Psoriatic arthropathy.

I was diagnosed with Dermatomyositis and Lupus 2 weeks ago. I'm so tired of feeling like crap all the time. Why don't doctors know what the heck their doing? Not in spots, just an overall thinning after each shampoo. :( I have been loosing my hair since March 2011 also it has become brittle and turned a different color. So glad that you are asking about hair loss with Plaquenil. and in the last 6 weeks, I have lost a bunch of hair.
